Day 2: Secret Codes


Welcome to Day 2

Today's Supplies

Essential Materials: Pencil (sharpened and not sharpened), Paper, scissors, index card, rubber band, pen.

Recommended Materials:

  1. Scytale

    1. Pencil

    2. Non sharpened hexagonal pencil OR Wooden dowel OR Cardboard tube (preferably paper towel sized)

    3. Strip of paper roughly .5” wide and at least 10” long

    4. Scotch tape

  1. Postcard Decoder

    1. Postcard

    2. Pencil

    3. Grid printed on card stock

    4. scissors/exact-o knife

  1. Rubber Band Message

    1. Rubber band (at least ½ inch wide; thicker works better for younger campers)

    2. Fine-tip Sharpie or ballpoint pen

Book or clipboard (to stretch the rubber band around)
